Grade II Flint Barn

This major renovation project involved the careful restoration of a Grade II listed flint barn, forming part of a historic manor estate.

The existing oak roof was in an extremely poor condition and required a complete replacement, which was carried out using a newly crafted oak roof structure, designed to be both authentic and sympathetic to the original architecture.

A key focus of the project was preserving the character of the building, which included saving the original oak frame wall. This was expertly repaired and restored to its former glory, once again showcasing the craftsmanship and timeless beauty of traditional oak construction.

The existing flintwork was meticulously conserved, with damaged areas carefully repaired to blend cleanly with the original materials. To enhance the building's functionality and aesthetic appeal, new Crittall-style windows were installed, providing a stylish yet sensitive update in keeping with the barn's historic charm.

Internally, the space was finished to an exceptionally high standard, guided by the client's bespoke design. The result is a beautifully revitalised building that honours its heritage while offering modern comfort and elegance.
