A warm, characterful renovation of a period cottage, with exposed oak beams, hand-finished joinery and a bespoke oak staircase throughout.
Gable End Cottage is a period home full of character. Our work here was a full refurbishment with major structural repairs to both the timber frame and stonework, carried out while celebrating everything that makes the building special.
Exposed oak beams run through the cottage, and we repaired and finished these by hand so they sit comfortably alongside the new work. A bespoke oak staircase was built to connect the floors, its solid timber a natural fit for the building.
Throughout the rooms, careful joinery and a warm palette let the cottage's original features take centre stage, from the leaded windows to the low beamed ceilings.
The result is a home that feels cosy and lived-in, its heritage honoured and its rooms ready for everyday life.
